Arts & Education Dance Development Fund

Edau’s Arts & Education Dance Development Fund is to develop teachers’ confidence, skills and experience of dance by working in collaboration with cultural organisations or dance practitioners. There is no restriction to what the activity could be - be creative!

This is a small fund and we expect it to be very competitive.


Edau is one of four Arts and Education Networks in Wales which are part of Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales’ Creative Learning Through The Arts - an action plan for Wales. All Creative Learning through the Arts recommendations were approved by Welsh Government, and as part of achieving the All-Wales offer, four arts and education networks have been established throughout Wales to enhance existing arts’ teaching in schools.


Your project needs to fit in with the following Creative Learning through the Arts aims: • Increase and improve arts experience and opportunities in schools • Support teachers and arts practitioners in developing their skills

We expect application to clearly express how the project will increase teachers’ confidence, skills and experience, that will lead to more use of dance in the school.

Who Can Apply?

  • Cultural organisations
  • Schools based in North Wales
  • Dance practitioners based in North Wales

We expect partnership applications from cultural organisation or creative practitioners and schools.

If applications come from dance practitioners or arts organisations you need to identify and plan with a school / schools and agree upon their proposed project before applying. Applications for projects with no school identified at application stage will not be supported.


Projects must be completed by 15 March 2018


Minimum £500, maximum of £1,000 per project.

The fund is for 90% of the project costs. Please specify where 10% of funds will come from.
