Arthaus61 is an art and craft materials shop. We have a gallery upstairs in the shop called Galeri61. We have a new exhibition every four weeks showing the work of local artist.

Gwynedd Council’s Museums and Galleries hold a diverse programme of exhibitions by local and visiting artists. Annual events are also held such as the Open Art Show and the pre-Christmas Craft Fair. Young Gwynedd artists are offered an opportunity to display their talents at Canolfan Maenofferen, Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The gallery has a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions by local and international artists. Changing regularly, the gallery always offers inspiration.

Museum
Welsh furniture, textiles, art, archaeology, social history items. Located in the former Canonry, the Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery, Bangor is brimming with stories from Gwynedd and surrounding area. The Roman Segontium sword, the Welsh Not, model of Telford’s suspension bridge, the King of Bardsey’s crown are just a few of the treasures you can enjoy.

Shop
The shop sells a mix of unique hand-made crafts including ceramics, jewellery, greetings cards and prints. The Principality Collector Plan Scheme, which is an interest free credit service, is available to individuals to purchase original and contemporary art and craft from both the gallery and shop.

The friendly staff are always on hand to answer questions.

There is an active support group, the “friends of the Gwynedd Museum & Art Gallery” who support the work of the museum and gallery by fundraising and advocating on behalf of the collections. New members are always welcome.

This year Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is celebrating its 150th birthday and the house is now home to one of Wales’ most important art galleries exhibiting works by our foremost artists. There is no entry fee and there is a tea-room and Welsh Craft shop in the gallery.

Oriel Rob Piercy was established over 20 years ago to exhibit original paintings and prints of works by the Porthmadog artist.

A 17th Century Listed Building exhibiting pots and ceramic sculptures by Alan and Lynette Gayden, who founded the Harlech Pottery in 1971. Also on view are the work of other Welsh potters as well as paintings, etchings, sculpture, weaving, jewellery and cards.

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Arts in Health & Wellbeing Programme in partnership with Gwynedd Council’s Community Arts Unit programmes a series of quarterly art and craft exhibitions at Oriel Ysbyty Gwynedd. This initiative is part of a wider arts in health & wellbeing programme to which there are many exciting and innovative projects in which the arts are used to enhance healthcare, to promote wellbeing and to improve community relations and communication. Some examples currently include arts workshops, musical performances and an artist in residency scheme. The aim of Oriel Ysbyty Gwynedd is to enhance the healthcare environment for the benefit of everyone using the hospital as well as offering artists an opportunity to exhibit to large and varied audience who visit the hospital.

A visit to Penrhyn Castle is a must for any art lover. Marvel at the fabulous collection of old masters and hand painted Chinese wallpapers. See stunning stained glass windows, sumptuous silks and a spectacular stone staircase that took the finest local craftsmen ten years to build. The fine art tradition continues into the twenty first century with two galleries featuring constantly changing exhibitions that showcase the best of local artistic talent.

Established three years ago, Tan yr Hall Gallery exhibits and sells original and print of works by local artists and more. Cards, wood products, ceramics and jewellery created by local craftspeople are also available. The Gallery holds a large collection of new and second hand books and offers a picture framing service.

Claire and Glyn Davies paint in watercolours and are developing a vibrant range of acrylic ink images, prints and cards as well as photographs. Together with their daughter Rowena, who is also an artist, they provide a fresh perspective on Wales’ land and sea scapes.

The Gallery is open daily throughout the year. It exhibits stunning paintings, prints, a large selection of gallery selected greeting cards, handmade jewellery and ceramics. A publishing service is also available to artists and photographers.
