A Bangor University project about music and dementia -

Following an excellent response to our request for votes over the past months, nearly 600 individual songs have been nominated as Welsh songs “that bring back happy memories”. Many of the nominations were submitted online within the first week and this was followed by an immense response from competitors and audience members at the ‘Welsh Choir of Wales’ competition in Aberystwyth (15-17/2/19).

The cover showcases artwork created by Phil Townson, a talented musician who lives with dementia. The design is one of the many works he created during the Dementia and Imagination research project. The art sensitively blends the themes of this new initiative, with music being a clear and natural influence.

The CD and download link for the playlist will be available by the end of June. We plan to celebrate the work and raise awareness at the National Eisteddfod, in Llanrwst on the Bangor University stand 1pm 9th August 2019.
