Places of Poetry – a series of poetry residences at Caernarfon Castle

Caernarfon Castle welcomes Welsh poet Gillian Clarke as part of Places of Poetry – a series of poetry residences which stretches through England and Wales
Places of Poetry offers you a fantastic opportunity to improve your poetry – or have a go at writing a poem for the first time – under the tutelage of poet Gillian Clarke, winner of the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry and founder of Tŷ Newydd The National Writing Centre for Wales.
Gillian will be at Caernarfon Castle on Wed 26th – Fri 28th June – she will be running two half day workshops (two hours each) with up to 20 people. Themes explored will be the history of the castle and more personal histories too – taking inspiration from the Places of Poetry themes of place, identity and heritage. The residency and workshops are fully funded thanks to Arts Council England, the AHRC and the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
